Battery Life

The most common question we get is “How long will the battery last?” and the answer to that question is, That’s a good question! This is because we offer a huge amount of products and each one uses a different amount of LED lighting which affects the battery life.

There are many other variables that will determine battery life as well. Primarily what color the LED lighting is set to. This is because different color LEDs use different amounts of power.
Which colors draw the most power?

• White
• Green
• Blue
• Red

White draws the most power because, in order to create white, it uses every color (RGB). So, in general, White will drain your battery 3x faster than Solid Red, Solid Green, or Solid Blue. Mixed colors (purple, cyan, yellow), as well as color changing modes, will vary the battery life depending on which colors are used. Solid colors, mixed colors, and color changing modes will always last longer than white.

How to increase/conserve battery life

• The best way to extend battery life is dim the lighting. This is especially effective for products with a lot of LED lighting. The 77″ portable bar, for example, draws roughly 40 watts on white at full brightness. Just by dimming the lighting one level, it reduces the power draw down to 34 watts.
• Always recharge your battery after each extended use, especially if you drain it completely.
• Buy a bigger battery. – The battery we sell is 12ah but these batteries are available as high as 96ah. Keep in mind you will need to make sure you have enough space for a larger battery and the terminals for these larger batteries may not be compatible with the cord we provide.
